Reflections started way back in 1998 when I first drafted a series of short stories for my website. But it was only in 2010 when I decided to rewrite one of the short stories so that I could turn it into an audio book, with voice acting and sound effects.

However, the project was shelved for personal reasons until 2012, when Nexus Creative had some surplus funds to kick-start a creative project. We decided that this project would be a short film based on that short story.

The timing was also right, in that I have been involved in a joint industry project with Saito College. Now, six students from the College are taking part in this movie project, where they will come up with various artwork and designs for promoting the movie. By taking part in an actual film production, the students benefit from this exercise.

From the short film, I also expanded the story by integrating subplots not shown in the movie but are, instead, available in Vanessa’s journal (link above).

So here we have a story of two characters: Billy’s is shown in the short film, and Vanessa’s life is written in her journal.

This project is driven by Nexus Creative’s passion: to create things with artistic value, and most importantly, to explore and use different media to provide people enjoyable experiences. All for free!
